Donkey Mask Craft
Biblioburro, by Jeanette Winter, is a true story about a school teacher in Colombia who loaded his two donkeys, Alpha and Beto, with books and traveled weekly to children in remote villages. To go along with the reading of this book, we created a craft — a Donkey Mask.
Here's what you'll need:
- computer and printer to download and print donkey mask template
- 3 sheets of cardstock paper
- 10" wood craft stick
- glue stick
Download and print donkey template onto card stock (3 pages). Each template contains the pattern for 2 donkey masks. Cut out the pieces of the mask. Cut out the eyes on the donkey head. Color all the pieces.
Match the inner ear to the correct ear and glue the two pieces together. Repeat with the other ear. Glue the ears to the top of donkey head. Glue the hair and the nose to the head.
Tape the craft stick to the back of the donkey head in the middle, leaving approximately 4 inches at the bottom for a handle.
