Based in Deep Ellum, Rakkasan Tea Company is a partnership between Brandon Friedman and Terrence Kamauf, veterans of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan. Rakkasan was the nickname of their regiment within the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division.
Their experience of taking time to drink tea provided by locals led to the start of the Rakkasan Tea Company. They import only from carefully selected estates in post-conflict countries as a way to promote peace and economic growth.
