New Chapter, Same Heart

Today, we source directly from artisan partners across the globe, curating a distinctive collection of one-of-a-kind items you won't find anywhere else. We go beyond fair trade practices—building lasting relationships with makers, ensuring sustainable livelihoods, and honoring the traditional crafts that make each piece special. Every item in our shop has a story, and we love creating a space where those stories spark meaningful conversations right here in McKinney.

What is Fair Trade?

Fair trade honors the skill, creativity, and dignity of master artisans who carry forward generations-old practices passed down through their families and communities. It ensures they receive fair compensation for their expertise, work in safe and empowering conditions, and have the support to keep traditional crafts alive for future generations. When you shop with us, you're investing in the preservation of cultural heritage—from hand-loomed textiles to carefully blended spices using ancient techniques. Each purchase connects McKinney to skilled makers around the world, bridging cultures and honoring the artistry that makes every piece truly exceptional.

Our Story

Faire and Square has been a cherished part of downtown McKinney since Kate Jones and her husband Andrew opened our doors in 2012. In Fall 2025, Kate passed the torch to Brittany Otwell and Ivey Reynolds—two longtime supporters who share her deep commitment to artisans worldwide and our McKinney community.

This has always been more than a store—it's a gathering place where global craft meets local community, and that mission remains as strong as ever. We are so grateful for your continued support!
